Native Nipa Hut in Tanay, Rizal Philippines |
Fun Fact: It is the hideout of the well - known Vendetta Coco Martin from the TV series "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," which has a Nipa Hut at the top of the hill. It's actually the focus of the campsite since it's still under development.

Next to the hill is a beautiful rock formation of Mt. Sambong. The name was derived from the word "Sambong," a herbal plant with a scientific name, Blumea Balsamifera, which grows everywhere on the mountain. It is a traditional herbal plant that treats urolithiasis (urinary or kidney stones) and urinary tract infections. It works as an expectorant, antidiarrheal and antispasmodic, all of which treat certain symptoms of common cold according to Wikipedia.

What I like the most is that the place has this panoramic view of the longest mountain range in the Philippines which is the Sierra Madre. If you want to relax and unwind, it's also a great place to camp and watch the stars. With its high latitude, you're sure to love it!
